High level lighting replacement, North Terminal Gatwick Airport.

We were instructed by OCS to attend their stores which are situated below the North Terminal and carry out repairs to the high level lighting units.

Our brief was simple, arrange to have one of our vehicles airside ready and loaded with scaffold equipment and light fittings. Clear security and do whatever was needed to ensure that all lights were working when we left site.

L&C keep our own access equipment (up to a working height of 10 metres) so we are well versed in erecting and dismantling these access towers. Once we were at working height it quickly became apparent that most fittings were beyond repair. Because we took the time to get to know the requirements of OCS all light fittings required were already loaded onto the van. New fittings were installed, tested and left operational, ready for the night shift.

There were no restrictions on working hours and the job was completed in one day, ensuring that the client was left happy with our efficient service.

Obviously security clearance was required for our staff to work within this area. This was obtained with little or no difficulty due to the stringent employment checks L&C already has in place when carrying out commercial wiring crawley and commercial wiring in Horley.
