Electrical Installation Condition Reporting: Virgin Atlantic, Gate House, Terminal 3, Heathrow.

We were instructed by Cofely on behalf of Virgin Atlantic to inspect the electrical installation within the gate House within Terminal 3 at Heathrow Airport.

Our brief was simple, carry out all testing, be as invisible as possible, keep out of the way of passengers and flight crew and most importantly, everything must be working again in time for the first arriving passengers, no exceptions.

This area is next to one of Virgin Atlantic's departure gates so passengers are present most of the time. The gate House itself is where flight planning and crew preperation is carried out. testing in this area required to utmost care and attention to detail.

The area is only accessed by passing through security and a watchful eye is never far away. All the client's requirements were met, no issues were encountered and the airline's operations continued whilst we worked behind the scenes.

Circuit testing was performed on all circuits including flight planning and ops, staff rest areas, and briefing areas.

Where possible detailed testing of every circuit was completed and the client was provided with both PDF and bound copies of the test results.

Obviously security clearance was required for our staff to work within this area. This was obtained with little or no difficulty due to the stringent employment checks L&C already has in place.
