About Our PAT Testing Service:
PAT testing has been an integral part of our business since 1997. All our engineers are fully qualified, efficient, discreet when required to be so and polite.
We utilise EasyPat software and IOS operating systems through the use of IPad tablet computers. This enables our engineers to arrive on site with as much information as possible, already loaded into the system. Once the testing is complete we are able to instantly verify the results and, if required, e-mail the relevant documents straight to your inbox.
Our service is quick, the pricing structure is clear and the documents we provide satisfy all relevant bodies.
We also carry out microwave leakage testing and are happy to carry this service out as part of your appliance testing.
How often should appliances be tested?
The Electricity At Work regulations 1989 require that all appliances that could cause injury if damaged or faulty, are maintained in a safe condition. They do not specify what checks should be done or the frequency of such tests. Instead, it is up to the person or organisation responsible for the appliances to ensure that staff, visitors and guests are not put at risk. We are happy to advise you on this if required.
How much do we charge?
Our pricing structure varies according to the number of appliances, the type of location they are used in and when they were last tested.
There are hundreds of adverts offering PAT testing at unrealistic prices. There are reasons why reputable companies like L&C Electrical Installations charge price 'A' and internet adverts and cold callers offer price 'B'
Price 'A' includes all leads, fuses and plug top replacements, pass / fail labels and bound copies of certificates of testing, lists of appliances tested and details of any re-occuring faults.
Price 'B' includes an often untrained individual actually testing about one in ten appliances, looking for non existent faults and charging inflated prices to repair them, replace fuses and plug tops.
